Erik Bottcher - the struggles of growing up gay, isolated, and depressed in rural New York
A Seat at the Table is an online exhibit made by the Wagner Archives in conjunction with LaGuardia Community College. This is a series of video oral histories from incoming and outgoing LGBTQ+ city council members and other elected officials in the state of New York. The exhibit reveals a linage of mentors and mentees who have shaped New York politics from the late 80s to the modern-day. The subjects share their personal histories and explore what it means to be part of the LBTQ+ community while also pursuing a career in politics.
interviewed by one of the archives’ historians, it was my role as an in-house videographer to record and edit the final video for the exhibit.
